Property building in Villa Saint-Ange
Villa Sant-Ange is the best show in town for absolute hotel perfection. It is quite simply gorgeous and considering it is largely a new build since 2019, around one original historic mansion, the scope and design of the hotel plan and grounds is stunning. The decor is very gilded and trad but it has a romantic, illuminated and reflective quality and overall the feel is relaxed luxury. The warm welcome from the offset with the friendly and extremely knowledgable host, Benjamin, and everyone really from reception to housekeeping and the serving team were exceptional. The warmth, smiles and good humour is what makes this place exceptional without being stuffy. The dining spaces are beautiful and breakfast including the buffet is outstanding. We were grateful for vegan cooked breakfasts of delicious vegetables and excellent coffee with plant milks available. The pool runs the mighty length of the restaurant, a beautiful, tranquil, turquoise perfect for dipping under azure Provencal skies. Loungers and drinks by the pool - try the ultra quality delicious chips - makes for a perfect holiday. The short, easy walk into the gloriously convivial and beautiful town of Aix makes this perfectly situated as well as being a quiet location.

Lovely hotel perfectly located within a 5 minute walk of the city centre. Beautiful room with terrace and large en-suite with bath and large shower. Very clean and everything you could need was provided. The masseuse was fantastic - splurged on a few there and thought she was one of the best. Used only clean, organic products and was brilliant. The only constructive feedback I’d provide is that after enjoying a delicious dinner at the hotel, unfortunately I suffered from awful food poisoning. I’d only eaten food from the hotel that day and it came 6 hours post dinner. I explained this to the hotel expecting they’d be apologetic but to no avail. I’ve only had food poisoning once at a great restaurant in London - they couldn’t have been apologetic and comped the food. Sadly the manager didn’t do the same for the dinner at this venue. These things happen but you can’t expect a guest to pay £200 pp for dinner and be happy if they are sick on the back of it. That’s my only constructive feedback. Lovely otherwise.

The hotel is really stunning, every detail has been thought through. The grounds are stunning, the pool beds are comfortable, we had a really nice room with a little private outdoor terrace. Really nice bathrooms. The most stand out things were the food and the service. Please if you go eat in the gastro restaurant, it’s outstanding. The people that they employ really care about your experience, the food and the execution. Please tip them!!! I get the feeling that they don’t get tipped often which given their level of expertise is a shame. We had the pleasure of talking to a couple of the staff and they went to university and studied their craft, they are very professional and take pride in their work. You can really tell that the hotel is independent and the person that owns it has an eye for detail and a passion for food, wine and a luxury experience. I can honestly say we will be back annually. Well done to the whole team.

We stayed at this property with our daughter and we were extremely well looked after. The hotel throughout is beautifully and thoughtfully designed and spotlessly clean. My husband and I booked a junior suite and our daughter had a double room and we were very happy with our accommodation. We were lucky with the weather and were able to sit by the pool which again is clean and well thought out and which is a great bonus in a city centre. The hotel is in a quiet, residential area but is very close to the restaurants and shops and the heart of Aix and the walk felt very quick and safe, even late evening. We ate dinner in the restaurant (outside) one evening and the food was excellent and so was the breakfast where everything was fresh and plentiful. This is a really well designed and elegant hotel and is a great base for a visit to Aix and the surrounding area.

Maria

Great breakfast, best dessert for dinner, amazing rooms with great attention to detail and renovation, curated gardens, fresh smell in the rooms. Julien, the restaurant manager, was a true professional and friendly gracious host, who then followed up and took care to organize a visit to Chateau Revelette winery after we enjoyed their Le Grande Rouge wine at dinner; visit was organized promptly the next day even though usually the winery does not take guests. Well done concierge too!
